AGRINET VISITS THE EIMA 2018 TRADE SHOW

Feedback from Marius Loubser, Commercial Executive Agrinet;

True to Agrinet‘s promise of continuously improving our total offering through ensuring a sustainable supply chain and partnering with key international suppliers, Agrinet CEO Yollande Brits, Coenie Maritz in his capacity as Irrigation product manager and I attended the EIMA International trade show in Bologna, Italy from the 7th to the 9th of November 2018.

EIMA International is the International Exhibition of Machinery for Agriculture and Gardening, a bi-annual event created in 1969 by FederUnacoma, the Italian Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Federation, and organized by the federation’s service division, FederUnacoma Surl, in collaboration with BolognaFiere.

The format of the review provides for fourteen merchandise sectors joined by specialised salons, EIMA Components, EIMA Green, EIMA Energy and EIMA M.I.A., for the direct participation of manufacturing industries from around the world presenting avant-garde technologies in the sector at the global level.

The organization rationale of the merchandise exhibits provides an enormous stage – reserved for professional business visitors on the first two days of the review – for the general public of enthusiasts able to immediately focus on their sectors of interest for better organizing their visits. EIMA is indeed the venue for the arrival of business people from sixty countries.

EIMA is held in Bologna Trade Fair quarters on an exhibition area of 375,000 m², 140,000 m² net. Each edition hosts some 1,900 companies from forty countries exhibiting more than 50,000 models of machinery and equipment for all types of agricultural operations or green work for every model of enterprise.

At the EIMA show we visited numerous exhibitors stands, mainly focusing on the irrigation segment at the show. One of the primary objectives of our visit to EIMA was to source new potential products and to ensure that the Agrinet offering in terms of latest technology and world class supplier compliments our promise in this regard. Not only did we enter into negotiations with new potential suppliers to expand the Agrinet irrigation offering which will shortly be introduced to our local market, the visit re-assured us of the fact that Agrinet’s current key international suppliers compete the with the best in the world.

Meetings and strategic discussions were held with several of our current suppliers with most of them also exhibiting at the EIMA show. These suppliers include Orbit International (Garden turf irrigation), Speroni pumps, Rovatti pumps, Rossi Sprinklers, supplier of the Rain sprinklers range, NASTEC solar pumps as well as Rivulis which is Agrinet’s partner supplying the well-known irrigation dripper line and t-tape products.

Coenie Maritz was also part of the African delegation which was invited by the Italian Commerce of Trade to attend the EIMA show. Delegates from all over Africa including countries such as Zambia and Zimbabwe created the opportunity for networking and future potential collaboration between Agrinet and their respective companies and countries.

Our Agrinet delegation was invited and hosted by the Rivulis group of companies at the EIMA show which is Agrinet’s partner supplying the well-known irrigation dripper line and T-tape products. After the EIMA show, myself and Coenie Maritz had the honour of visiting two of the Rivulis factories in Athens and Toulouse respectively. Once again it was a mind-blowing experience to witness the state-of-the-art manufacturing at the various factories which is evident in the quality Rivulis products we are currently distributing into the Sub Sahara market in partnership with Rivulis.

On behalf of our CEO, Yollande Brits, Coenie Maritz and myself I wish to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate all our suppliers as well as the Italian Commerce of Trade for making the visit to Italy, Greece and France not only a most memorable experience but for the manner in which we were treated and the opportunity to strengthen our business partnerships.
