Preparation of your steel is essential: Is there rust on your steel that needs to be treated first and how are you going to treat it?

It must be sanded with sandpaper to remove most of the rust or brushed with a wire brush. The more you remove, the better. Wash the surface with a sugar soap mixture, and rinse thoroughly with water. Leave the surface to dry completely. All-in-One can be applied with a paint brush or roller (furpile), after stirring thoroughly. Spraying is not recommended. Thinners are not recommended as it is a water-based product – ready to use. Allow +/- 4 to 6 hours drying time between coats. Allow paint to cure for 7 days before attempting to clean the surface. Do not apply when rain is imminent.

A quick-drying enamel that is designed for decorating all interior and exterior steel surfaces where a durable gloss finish is required. This product is recommended for a variety of uses, including farm and garden implements, indoor and outdoor furniture, truck chassis and tractors, plant equipment and machinery, steel cabinets, and shelves. To achieve the best results, it is recommended to apply one coat of Steel Cladd Industrial Primer, followed by two coats of Steel Cladd QD Enamel, with the correct drying time between coats.

Apply a base coat with a Rust Control product such as Steel Cladd QD Red Oxide or QD Primer. This is a quick-drying product, so keep the lid on between painting periods and stir with a flat object to work the solvents in properly. Paint with a roller (long fibers) or spray with a compressor (dilute with QD Thinners if you're spraying, 10%-15%). Pour the paint into a paint tray, fill the roller generously, and paint quickly. Let it dry for 2-4 hours before applying the next layer of paint, even if it feels dry to the touch. You can apply 2 or 3 layers depending on your application and the quality of coverage.
